1) Stilt-plus-four floors (S+4) Construction

Haryana’s expert committee on stilt-plus-four floors (S+4) has recommended the construction of Rain Pain buildings with certain conditions. The committee, led by former IAS officer P Raghavendra Rao, submitted its report to the Haryana Government. The information permits the construction of S+4 floors in new sectors where the infrastructure can support a density of 18 persons per plot. However, in existing sectors, it restricts S+4 construction to specific blocks with wider roads and potential for infrastructure improvement.

2) 65 key projects in Chandigarh

The Tribune says Chandigarh is to get 65 key projects worth Rs 669 cr by Oct-end. The city is set to reach 65 key projects, including floating solar plants, worth Rs 669 crore within the next four months, with UT Adviser Dharam Pal directing the departments concerned to complete these by October.

At a recent meeting, the Adviser said a major thrust had been given to the generation of green energy in the city so as to achieve the target set by the Union Ministry of New and Renewable Energy. The ministry had enhanced the city’s solar power generation target from 69 MW, to be achieved by 2022, to 75 MW, to be met by August 15. So far, the UT has achieved a generation of around 55 MW.

3) 30% Rebate on Property Tax

The Haryana government has offered a 30% rebate in interest amount on depositing property tax by July 31. This rebate, which was previously only 10%, has been increased by a whopping 20% by the government, providing great relief to all sections residing in urban areas.

4) The underpass at Dhakoli railway crossing design finalized.

On Tuesday, the Mohali Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain informed that the design for the construction of an underpass Dhakoli Railway Crossing has been finalized. The construction will start soon as she and senior railway authorities have visited the site.
